You know, I’m glad you asked. I believe strongly in the fundamentals of prospecting. Success requires a plan, a process, and consistent effort. Therefore, like training for an endurance race, preparation has no shortcuts. To achieve goals, you must develop a smart plan, execute it, and trust the process. When done correctly, success is a reasonable expectation.
For example, in competition, success might mean crossing the finish line or achieving a specific placement. Similarly, in business, it should lead to increased sales and profits.
I am 62-years-young and bring 40 years of sales prospecting knowledge. Initially, the first 15 years of my career included outside sales (office equipment) and managing sales teams. In addition, over the past 25 years, I’ve run Dunlap Marketing, a company specializing in prospecting and appointment setting. As a result, I have designed and implemented hundreds of successful prospecting campaigns.
I am an “outside of the box” thinker who embraces old-school sales techniques. My personal accomplishments reflect my dedication to planning and perseverance. For instance, these include completing one Ironman Triathlon, eight marathons, and multiple ultra-marathons of 50 and 100 miles. Additionally, I have competed in three U.S. National water ski tournaments—all within the last 14 years. Even now, my bucket list still includes more ultra-marathons and U.S. Nationals, as I’m always striving to achieve new goals.
I have been married to a wonderful woman for 35 years, and together we’ve raised three beautiful daughters. Seven years ago, we gained a fantastic son-in-law. Most importantly, in December 2020, we became proud grandparents to our first granddaughter.
I live simply: love God, love my family, love my business, and love myself. Moreover, I stay healthy, foster great friendships, and work hard so I can play hard. Above all, I believe in being prepared.
